Members of the SICon research group published an article in the book “The Contribution of Universities Towards Education for Sustainable Development”.
The article “Implementing Sustainability Programs in Universities – An Overview of Evolution, Challenges from a Global, Brazilian Perspective” is available as a chapter of the book published in 2024.
The text focuses on the need to make university campuses more sustainable, highlighting the importance of example and opinion formation. The research reviewed 228 articles on sustainable activities in universities, selecting 33 relevant ones, in addition to another 15. It discusses the experiences and challenges found in national and international institutions, showing how this knowledge can guide sustainable practices. The importance of aligning educational institutions with the Sustainable Development Goals is recognized as a vital step towards a sustainable university.
