Members of the SICON Research Group and DNIT publish a book chapter: Bridge Safety, Maintenance, Management, Life-Cycle, Resilience and Sustainability.
The chapter “Comparative study of bridge structural condition assessment methodologies” is available in the book Bridge Safety, Maintenance, Management, Life-Cycle, Resilience and Sustainability, first edition, 2022.
The authors of the chapter are Christian Alexandre Feitosa de Souza, José Maria Franco de Carvalho, Ana Carolina Pereira Martins, Fernando Gussão Bellon, Maria Claudia Sousa Alvarenga, Diôgo Silva de Oliveira, Kléos Magalhães Lenz César Júnior, José Carlos Lopes Ribeiro, Rogério Calazans Verly and Galileu Silva Santos. The group is formed by researchers of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure and Department of Civil Engineering of the Federal University of Viçosa.
The present work aims to inform and compare the active methods used in the performance evaluation of bridges and viaducts in Brazil, emphasizing the comparability of the method currently used and also the newest and most efficient methods to carry out the testing of these Works that connect our country through the road network.
