Member of the SICON research group along with researchers of the institutions UFOP and BAM publishes article in the “JOURNAL OF BUILDING ENGINEERING”.
The title of the article is “Influence of high-charge and low-charge PCE-based superplasticizers on Portland cement pastes containing particle-size designed recycled mineral admixtures” being available at the “Journal of Building Engineering”; Volume 32, November 2020, 101515.
The authors are: José Maria Franco de Carvalho, Wolfram Schmidt, Hans-Carsten Kühne and Ricardo André Fiorotti Peixoto. The group is formed by researchers of the institutions Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP) and German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) of Berlin.
In this work, Portland cement-blended pastes containing mineral admixtures designed for improving particle packing were evaluated in the presence of low- and high-charge polycarboxylate-based superplasticizers. The powders were obtained from basic oxygen furnace slag, iron ore tailings, quartz mining tailings, and quartzite mining tailings.
